Location, location, location --and more. Please read on.
The apartment sits in the very heart of Florence in the Via dei Neri, one of the oldest streets of the city. Piazza Signoria, the UffiziMuseum and Ponte Vecchio are literally a stone’ s throw away.
It is remarkably airy and full of light. The view from the 4 windows extends over the roofs of Florence, all the way to the BoboliGardens from the bedroom and to the dome of the cathedral in the living room.
It is unusually quiet because the street below is restricted to car traffic and, in general, the only noise is the muted sounds of shoppers and passers-by coming from the street below.
It is located on the third floor of what used to be a “casa-torre”, that is a medieval tower serving as a dwelling for one large family. Changes and additions have been made in the course of the past centuries and the complete renovation that the apartment underwent in 2006 gave it a modern, fresh and soothing look while preserving some of the old features like the old cotto floors and the hand-cut stone frames around the door-ways.
As a good example of medieval Florentine architecture, the building does not have an elevator but we believe that ascending the old stone steps to the great views and airy space is worth it.
